The ebbs and flows of the Balonne River have a major impact on people who live and work in south-west Queensland`s St George region.

And this flood height marker near the Explore Centre provides a constant reminder of just how wild nature can get.

Also located on its banks of the Balonne River is Riversands Wines, Queensland’s westernmost winery, which sprawls over 20 hectares and produces 60-80 tonnes of wine grapes per annum.
.
My shorty on Riversands Wines appeared in The Australian (Travel + Luxury) over the weekend. That`s my ploughman`s lunch I mention (pic 2). Wine tastings at the cellar door are free ... and highly recommended.

Is this Singapore`s best spot for a swim?

Take the lift to COMO Metropolitan Singapore`s 19th floor and slide into its infinity pool with stunning views of the city.🏊
.
This cantilevered rooftop pool (which means it juts out beyond the building itself) stretches for 30 metres and is 1.2 metres deep.
.
Scared of heights? Don`t look down. There`s width of glass running along the bottom of the pool which means you can dog paddle while viewing the busy streets of the Orchard Road district below you.
.
There`s even a heated jacuzzi for those who like to spa after a swim.

Great place for a sunset drink too. 🥂🍾

Postcards from Quilpie.
.
Quilpie (postcode 4480) is located a staggering 10 hours and 59 minutes from Brisbane, but it`s totally worth the drive.
.
During a visit last month, I stayed at The Lake Quilpie, a 2,500-acre cattle and sheep property which also runs Kalahari red goats (second pic).
.
Last year, owners Dan and Louise Hoch also installed a rustic new bathhouse with a sunset view of Lake Houdraman (first pic) that`s become part of Outback Queensland`s new Wellness Way.
.
My digs also included Toogunna Plains Farmstay at Belombre Station, a fifth-generation family-owned sheep and cattle station located midway between Quilpie and Eromanga (final four pics).
.
The owners run a sunset tour our to the stunning red sandhills pictured here. As they`re located on private land, the only way you can see them is if you`re staying in one of Toogunna`s 18 huts or cabins.
.
I also hear a `hot tub under the stars` experience is on the way ... which is more than enough reason to return!
